From the street this gallery looks like a store front so when I passed by it the first time, I didn’t know what it was.
I planned to get together with my long time friend Kamaria and spend a weekday exploring a couple new places in the city. We had to take advantage of the unusually warm February weather we were experiencing.
We went to dinner and let time just pass us by because the gallery closes at 6 p.m. on Wednesday’s. We called our Uber at 5:45 p.m. Right, we rushed there to see some of the pieces in the 10 minutes that we had.
Really, we just wanted to get some cool artistic pictures but when we arrived I remembered there was a new exhibit that would be debuting that Friday.
In exhibit C you will find “Scribbles: An Urban Art Series” by Lisa Tureson.
“On a July afternoon in 2016, Lisa Tureson saw a lovely wall while walking the streets of Copenhagen, Denmark. Revealed in the age, layers and crumbling was evidence of so many people and so much bygone time. Something poetic and beautiful struck her and it inspired a series of mixed media paintings called the Scribbles Series.” — Touchstone Gallery
Another cool thing about Touchstone is that you can host parties/events here or attend. They have images from past events on their website too, so check them out.
Until next time,
