The crossroads between art, science and technology
Recently, there have been posts on Instagram of a new museum that opened earlier this year called Artechouse. The current exhibit is called XYZT: Abstract Landscapes which is open from June 1st – September 3rd. What sets this exhibit apart from others in DC is the interactive and transformative installations solely produced from synchronized and programmed lights.
This installation has traveled the world and was created by well-renowned contemporary digital artists and multimedia choreographers Adrien M. and Claire B.
The cost for the daytime entry is $15 and the cost for nighttime entry is $25. There are timed slots for each day the museum is open. Timed slots for the daytime exhibit are from 10 AM – 4:30 PM. Timed slots for the nighttime exhibit are from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM.
When you arrive at the museum be sure to go up to the attendants and check-in. The tour isn’t guided so once they send the group down stairs you can preview the all the installations.
They encourage the guests to have FUN! We enjoyed the installations. All the lights on the floor, walls, touch screens, and film screens made the experience like one I have never experienced.
To see more visuals of these installations, check out some videos on my Instagram page @Bestksdc.
Artechouse is open only during exhibit hours and they are located at 1238 Maryland Ave. SW, Washington, DC. 20024
